Let's be fair first. Me-QR offers genuinely free dynamic QR codes, up to 10,000 of them, with unlimited scans (verified August 2026). That is a real selling point. The problem is not the feature set. It is what happens when someone scans your code.
The #1 issue: ads on your QR codes, even after you pay
When someone scans a Me-QR code on the free plan, they see an ad page before reaching your content. Paying does not fully fix it. The Lite plan ($16.99/month in the US, $10.50/month effective if billed yearly, verified August 2026) removes ads from, in Me-QR's own words, "1 ads-free QR code (in total)". Every other code keeps showing ads. Getting all codes ad-free requires Premium at $27.99/month ($15.08/month effective billed yearly).
For any professional use (client work, menus, packaging, event materials) an ad page between the scan and the content destroys credibility.
The #2 issue: cancel, and ads return to codes you already printed
This is the dealbreaker Me-QR states in its own FAQ. Asked "If I cancel my subscription, will ads appear on the QR codes I created in my Premium account?", the answer is a plain "Yes." Codes already printed on packaging or signage start showing ads again the moment you stop paying.
The #3 issue: renewal and support problems
